【Kutchan Town】Special announcement regarding avalanches.

As we enter March, the rising temperature also rises the risk of avalanches.
There has been multiple avalanche incidents in Hokkaido this Winter which lead to fatal injuries.
When planning your expedition and before entering the mountain, pay close attention to the following signs and if such signs are spotted, do not approach them:

Cracks: Snow fractures resembling scratches on the slope.
Cornices: Snow overhangs from the ridge of a mountain.

Also, be cautious of falling snow from roof and trees.
Heavy snow can cause serious damages or injuries.
