【Niseko Model】 Utilizing Taxis to Solve Problems through Overtourism

Hokkaido Hire Association, Kutchan Town, Niseko Town, and GO Corporation have launched the "Niseko Model" as a solution to transportation issues through overtourism during the winter season in the Niseko area.
This is a four-month experiment from December 2023 to March 2024, in which 25 cab drivers and 10 vehicles will be dispatched to the Niseko area from Sapporo, Tokyo, and other areas to provide last-mile transportation.
On Tuesday, October 3, a signing ceremony was held for the Niseko Model, which aims to solve the problem of overtourism by utilizing cabs.
